Magery

When citizens first arrived to Artemis, they discovered two sentient,
powerful beings called The Aurivor and The Light; the former, seems
oriented towards mental manipulation and physical domination of the
elements, while the latter is oriented towards protection and
restoration.

While the colony and the ACC started to discourage people from
interacting with these beings out of fear of the damage being done to
the harmony of the planet, many continued to seek them out, and
eventually realized that some humans had more affinity than others to
learning what they could teach.

Over time, people have started to learn from them how to do
unbelievable, magic-like things.

The ACC has outlawed magic from being cast in public in Artemis and
most of the general populace seek to eradicate this kind of knowledge
from the planet.

Nevertheless, many still seek this kind of knowledge and use it to
their advantage, by developing a relationship with the Light, the
Aurivor, or both.
